TEACHING AIDS: Text book, cassette player III.PROCEDURE: 1-Settlement: Greeting the class & checking students’ attendance. 2-Checking: Asking Ss to make the dialogue about the music 3- New lesson: Lesson3: LISTENING T Teacher’s activities Students’ activities WARM-UP: Network -T asks ss to work in groups to complete a network with the word “ musician “ as quickly as possible .T can print this handout one copy to each Foreign Musician VietNamese group -The 1st group to produce the correct and complete network will be the winner PRE-LISTENING Activity 1: Talk about Van Cao -T asks Ss to look at the picture on page on 127and tell the -Look at the picture and talk class anything they know about Vancao about him - Expected answer + Born in 1923, died in 1995 (71 years old) + Job: Musician, poet & painter -T reads the names of the songs on page 128 loud .Whenever +Van cao’s songs: Soui Mo, -T speaks out a song name ,Ss say whether it is of Vancao’s Tien Quan Ca, Truong Ca or not. Song Lo, Lang Toi -If the song not one by Vancao , T asks Ss if they know who +Tinh Ca-> Hoang Viet wrote that song + Ha Noi Mua Thu-> Vu Thanh
2. -T asks Ss to give more information about Tien Quan Ca Tien Quan Ca ( Marching song): The national anthem of Viet Nam. It was both written and composed by Van Cao in 1944. It was adopted as the national anthem of North Viet Nam in 1945 and was adopted as the national anthem of Socialist Repubic of Viet Nam in 1976 after the reunification of North Viet Nam and South Viet Nam.
