Knowledge - Get an overview on vocabulary related to the topic Different ways of learning - Grammar: Relative pronouns 2. Competence - Develop listening and reading skills - Be collaborative and supportive in pair work and teamwork - Actively join in class activities 3. Quality - Be more creative when studying - Develop self-study skills B. TEACHING AIDS 1. Students: - Grade 10 textbook 2. Teachers: - Computer connected to the Internet - Projector/ TV/ pictures and cards - sachmem.vn C. TEACHING PROCEDURES I. Warm up (7 minutes) Objectives: - To create a friendly and lively atmosphere in the class before the lesson; - To lead into the new lesson Content: Having some warm-up activities to create a friendly and relaxed atmosphere to interest Ss in the lesson. Output: Ss can call out some new learning activities Process: *Teacher: - Asks Ss to log into the game and answer the 6 questions in the game.   2. * Ss guess the theme of lesson today: NEW LEARNING ACTIVITIES *T gives relevant comments on the students’ answers. Answers: 1. Group work 2. Pairwork 3. Presentation 4. Debate 5. Projects 6. Experiment II. New lesson 1. Vocabulary (10 minutes) Objective: Provide Ss necessary vocabulary related to the topic. Content: Learning vocabulary given. Output: Ss can master vocabulary related to the topic. Process: VOCABULARY: GAME “WHO IS FASTER?” MATCH THE VERBS WITH THE NOUNS TO MAKE PHRASES. (Activity 3, p. 87) *T divides the class into 2 groups. Each group receives a pack of 6 cards, on which verbs are written. *T sticks 6 phrases on the board. One representative of each group goes to the board as fast as possible to stick their verb cards next to the phrases on the board to make correct phrases. Each correct phrase gets 1 point. The winner is the group with more correct phrases. Activity 1: Listen and read (10 minutes) Objectives: - To get students interested in the topic. - To introduce some vocabulary and the grammar points to be learnt in the unit Content: Listen and read; Role-play practice Output: Ss can practice the conversation fluently and identify some vocabularies and relative clauses used. Process: *T asks Ss to listen to a conversation between Nick and Long and guess what they are talking about. *T lets Ss listen. *T calls 2 Ss to answer the question. *T gives corrections. Expected answer: - They are talking about their learning activities. - They are talking about their homework. * Ss read the conversation * One pair reads aloud. * T collects common mistakes and gives comments. Activity 2:TRUE OR FALSE (p.87)(8 minutes) Objective: To check Ss’ comprehension of the conversation. Content: Reading for specific information (T/F questions) Output: Ss can confirm T/F statements based on information from the conversation. Process: * T asks Ss to work individually to read the statements and underline the key words, then share their ideas with a partner who sits next to them. * Ss do Task 2 individually first. * Ss share and discuss with their partners about the key words * T corrects their answers as a class. 1. Nick is preparing for his next geography class. 2. Nick’s note taking skills are quite good. 3. Nick’s class is working on many projects now. * T asks Ss to scan the conversation, locate the key words to find the answer for each the question with the partner who sits behind them * Ss do the task in pairs. * T has Ss share their answers with the class. T Activity 3: Complete the sentences (5 minutes) Objective: To help students identify relative clauses and how they are used in sentences. Content: Fill in one suitable relative pronouns Output: Ss can identify and revise the Relative clauses and Pronouns. Process: Page | 3
